The 3 biggest things to do on LinkedIn to get a job

I give job seekers and the miserably employed the same advice again and again: To attract employers to you on LinkedIn ...

1) Add up to 50 skills relating to the jobs that you want into the Skills section of your LinkedIn profile and get many people to endorse you for them. This helps you "score" high for those skills. Skills tips 

2) Pack your Summary section of your LinkedIn profile with keywords for the jobs that you want including retyping all of the skills listed in your Skills section into your summary. I explain why this is hugely important here.

3) Alert recruiters to your availability (and preferences) by going to Jobs > Preferences and completing the form. Here's how and why it's essential to do so. 

In addition to these tips, it's paramount that you complete your LinkedIn profile as completely as you can and to maximize every section so that you can be found.

I recently learned what a tremendous (some would say unfair) advantage a LinkedIn premium account can provide for job seekers.   

One big reason that the Job Seeker Premium account is so advantageous is because it will reveal to job seekers the EXACT key words the job posters are seeking for their jobs. In addition, the system will tell you if you score high for the position (or not) so that you can adjust your key words in your Summary section and immediately show up as a more qualified candidate.
