A simple way to support your customers using LinkedIn -- Like, comment, and share!

Your LinkedIn home page gives you an easy way to support your customers and prospects -- like, comment, and share their posts! Here’s how:

Log in to LinkedIn. The page that opens is your home page where you will see dozens of posts, some from your customers and prospects discussing new products, new hires, and other good news messages. Simply click the Like, Comment, and Share buttons to further their message. Each option has particular benefits:

Like is super easy, so if you only have a minute or two, click a few likes, or hover over the hand icon to select the Celebrate, Love, Insightful, or Curious options. Liking posts helps, but not nearly as much as commenting or sharing their posts.

Comment allows you to say something positive about their post or to encourage others to weigh in on their topic. Craft a thoughtful, positive message to encourage other people to join in the conversation. Your customers and prospects will LOVE you for supporting their posts.

Share encourages you to comment AND spread your customers’ message with your network to expand their reach to many more people. Customers and prospects are THRILLED when you spread their news to your connections.

Using the @ symbol when commenting
Use the @symbol to tag people and companies in your posts. By doing so, you alert them that you are saying positive things about them.

Tag your customers’ name and/or company name with an *@” symbol right before their name to make sure that they see the positive post mentioning them. Example: Type @Dick Mueller and @FranSelect and select each from the options that pop up to make sure that person from that company sees your post.

Also, use hashtags, such as #franchisingdevelopment or #franchise to attract readers interested in those topics. Additionally, include location hashtags, such as #StLouis to make sure people in your target cities see your posts in their LinkedIn home page news feed. There is no limit on the number of hashtags that you can use per post, but the optimum is 3 to 5.

Follow your customers’ company page (by typing a company name into the search box and clicking the Follow button on its page) to ensure that their posts appear on your home page. Once you have liked, commented, and shared on people and company posts, LinkedIn automatically starts listing their posts at the top of your home page to make it easy for you to continually support their posts.

Support your customers' and prospects’ posts. They just may support you with their business in return! -- Kathy
