7 ways to attract prospects using LinkedIn:

1) Add a colorful banner at the top of you and your employees' profile pages to promote your products or services

To add a banner click the blue pencil and then the tiny blue pencil in the banner area. Save the image as 1584 x 396 pixels. Your profile picture circle will be superimposed over the lower left portion of the image so don't include text in that area.

2) Pack your 120-character profile headline with what you sell and why they should contact you.

Example for a soundproofing company: “Sound Control Solutions-Interior Room Acoustics/Architectural Noise Separation/Industrial Noise Control/Vibration WBE”. (117 characters) WBE is a business is certified as a Women's Business Enterprise)

------------------

3) Pump up your profile summary’s 2,000 characters with compelling details about your products or services and include your most important information, web address and contact information in the first 300 characters so that they show above the “Show more” link.

------------------

4) Change your 100-character job title in your current experience entry from something vague, like “Owner”, to a title that tells people why they should contact you.

Example:  “Vice President-Sales/Marketing/Operations - Process Heat & Control Sales/Service/Support/Loaners MBE”. (100 characters) MBE means that a business is certified as a Minority Business Enterprise)

------------------

5) Use the job description’s 2,000-character detail box to explain your company’s unique selling points and how prospects can benefit from doing business with you.

------------------

6) Add videos, sales sheets, presentations, images, and more to your profile Summary and Experience sections. You can do so by going to that part of your profile, clicking the blue pencil near the entry, scrolling to the bottom of the entry and clicking either the "Upload" or "Link" button. Click the "Supported formats" link to learn accepted media and providers.
