How to match your resume to a job description

You hear it all of the time ... match your resume to every opening, but how? In this excellent infographic from Uptowork.com, you can learn how, step-by-step.

Note: There is one formatting issue that I have concerns with in this infographic (the shaded box on the right), which I have indicated with a red star. I do not advise using boxes, shading, tables, or lines in resumes when applying through applicant tracking systems (ATS) because they can cause your resume to be unreadable. According to Capterra, more than 75% of companies use ATS systems and according to Forbes, up 75% of resumes are rejected by ATS systems due to formatting problems. For that reason, I recommend incorporating the text from the right sidebar box entire the main text of the resume. Thanks, Kathy
