To disconnect him/her, simply go to the Contacts tab > scroll through your contacts to find the person you want to remove and then click the Remove connections button. I always suggest doing that when you are job seeking. <br /><br />Regarding the comment about some people not being on social media, that will likely always be the case so reach out to those people through other means but at the same time build your social media network with people who are active on the sites such as LinkedIn.
